In 2016, Costa introduced a new high-performing bio-based material partially derived from the castor oil plant. Costa Bio-Resin has a smaller carbon footprint than traditional petroleum-sourced nylon, and because it's derived from a plant, contributes to carbon offset. Costa Del Mar’s warranty program does not cover scratched lenses. Additionally, any alterations of Costa Del Mar products (i.e. sunglasses fitted with non-Costa Del Mar prescription lenses) will void warranty coverage.
